How does the in-page audio player work?

A single page-level <AudioPlayer> client component mounts one <audio> ref plus a fixed-bottom playback bar (play/pause/close). Play buttons in the trending list dispatch a `podcast-platform:play-episode` CustomEvent with the episode's audio_url; the player listens and starts streaming. CustomEvent-based wiring avoids threading a React context several levels deep through the trending list.

Where do the audio URLs come from?

Each episode row has an `audioUrl: string` field. Default is empty in the shipped seed data, which renders the Play button disabled with a tooltip explaining the gap. Set the URL to a real MP3 (an RSS-feed enclosure URL, your own CDN, an Internet Archive item, etc.) and the player streams it inline. No audio hosting bundled with the template.

Can listeners scrub through the episode?

The default player bar is play / pause / close — no scrubber or speed controls. The native <audio> element supports both; refine with 'expose the currentTime + duration in the AudioPlayer bar with a draggable progress slider' to add the timeline.

Does it support an RSS feed for Apple Podcasts?

Not in the default ship — refine with 'add a /feed.xml route that emits an RSS 2.0 feed with itunes:* extensions for every episode'. Apple Podcasts and every podcast app picks it up automatically once the URL is submitted in iTunes Connect.

Can I add show notes / transcripts?

The default episode shape doesn't include them. Refine with 'add an optional showNotes (markdown) and transcript (plaintext) field per episode; render show notes below the Play button and put transcripts on a /episode/[slug] route'. The codegen agent scaffolds both.

What about Spotify / Apple Podcasts embed players?

The template prefers an in-page <audio> over third-party embeds — faster first paint, no cookie banner, no cross-origin issues. If you want the Spotify embed on top of an episode card, refine with 'add a spotifyEpisodeId field per row and render the Spotify embed iframe when set'.

How is the newsletter signup wired up?

Same shape as every other FloopFloop template with a newsletter: a real server action that inserts into a `subscribers` table (UNIQUE email + per-IP rate limit). 23505 unique_violation gets surfaced as 'already on the list' rather than an error. No third-party service.
